My client wants to develop a single, globally applicable model for IT Service Continuity Management (encompassing DR).
In preparation for this, I am working on a piece of analysis to identify and extract the key features (with respect to IT SCM) from:
- ITIL V3
- COBIT V4.1
- ISO 24762
I was hoping to get an objective view of this material from professionals and subject matter experts within the industry and have put togethor a few questions to get a feel for the general opinion:
What are the general views around practical application of best practices and standards for IT SCM?
- How highly regarded is ITIL/COBIT/ISO 24762 by professionals in the industry?
- How should these practices and standards be implemented in operation?
- Are there any other guidelines relevant to IT SCM that can add value?
